Patrick “Pat” Henry Cain, 67, of Waimea died Oct. 8 at home. He was a plumber and fisherman. Celebration of life at 11 a.m. Nov. 5 at Glenwood Park in Hilo. Survived by daughters, Kimberly (Terry) Gray of California, Cassie (Taicee) Iremia of Honolulu, Tiare Bedell of Colorado, Minnie Cain, Carrie Kimmal and Amanda Kimmal; sons, Johnny Kimmal of Maui and Jimmy (Billie Joe) Kimmal of Hilo; brother, Robert Ketterman of Kansas; sisters, Genny (Daniel Meyer) Cain of California, Imagene (Norman) Gonsalves of Kauai, Irmagene Kaohe of Honolulu and Sharon (Lorna) Perez of Waimea; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Masayuki Kai, 93, of Hilo (formerly of Pahala) died Oct. 2 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home in Hilo. He was a retired supervisor with the former Ka‘u Sugar Company, self-employed farmer, member of Pahala Hongwanji Buddhist Temple, U.S. Army World War II veteran, Company H, 442nd Infantry Regiment, and Bronze Star recipient. Visitation 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday (Oct. 28) at Dodo Mortuary Chapel, Hilo; memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Fumiko Kai of Hilo; sons, Steven (Sharon) Kai of Kalaheo, Kauai, and Russell (Sharon) Kai of Mountain View; daughters, Priscilla (Cary) Shimamoto of Kailua, Oahu, Barbara (Gerald) Takase of Hilo and Lorraine Kai of Hilo; sisters, Chiyoko Yokomizo of Pahala and Sueko Nemoto of Maui; brother-in-law, Mikio Izu of Kona; 14 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild; nephews and nieces. Barbara Tomoko Sato, 82, of Hilo died May 3 at home. Born in Honolulu, she was a homemaker. Private services held. No cards, gifts or flowers. Survived by husband, Wayne D. Sato; daughter, Darcy R. Joseph William Withers, 88, of Hilo died Oct. 1 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Chicago, he was a retired chief executive officer for FKI Hardware Group and U.S. Army Korean War veteran. Private services held. Final services and committal in Grand Rapids, Mich., at Graceland Memorial Park and Mausoleum. Survived by wife, Phyllis Kitayama Withers of Hilo; son, Timothy (Patsy) Withers of Pepeekeo; daughter, Kelley (Robert) Holzwarth of Ada, Mich.; step-daughters, Liann, Lisa and Sara Ebesugawa; nieces and nephews.
